Introduction
Sometimes a template will need to be used twice for two separate events during one consultation - for example, using the 'Wound Management' template to record Wound Care for more than one wound on a patient.
First Event
Open up an Ardens template as usual, by using F12 or going to Auto Consultation when in a patients record. For this example, we will use the Wound Management template by either going to Auto Consultation > ardens NURSES and HCAS > Wound Management or by searching 'Wound Management' on the F12 Launcher.
Fill out the template for the first wound as normal, and then once completed click 'OK'.
If the patient has a second Leg Ulcer that needs to be recorded in the same consultation, when the 'Wound Management' template is reopened and the 'Leg Ulcer' tab selected, the above information will still be showing and any new data added will overwrite the existing data. To stop this from happening, we need to create a 'Next Event'.
Second Event
To make a mini save of the first event and start a 'Next Event', click on the 'Next Event' button on the toolbar, located to the right of the 'Start Consultation' button:
Alternatively, depending on the toolbar configuration, there may also be a 'Next' button with an icon on the toolbar. Clicking this also does the same thing.
The following pop up box may appear. Just click 'Yes'. It's also possible to stop this from popping up again by unticking the tick box on the pop up.
By clicking this 'Next Event', anything done already will be 'Saved' to the record and viewable on the Journal, but the patient will remain open. Simply navigate back to the 'Wound Management' template and in this example a new Leg Ulcer can be recorded as the template will now be blank again.
This can then be done as many times as is needed during one consultation. Once completed, save the record as normal, and all data will be recorded onto the patients notes.
Other Uses
This can be used for any template where more than one of the same procedure has to be done during the same consultation, such as drug injections, minor surgery procedures etc.
