CQRS Reporting
We have recently made some updates to our CQRS Reports. These have been redesigned based on user feedback. The existing reports will remain to help with the transition, and these can be found in Reporting > Clinical Reporting > Contracts | 2023 24 | CQRS whereas the new set of reports can be found in the folder below this called Reporting > Clinical Reporting > Contracts 2023 24 | CQRS NEW.
This article explains both sets of searches.
Contracts | 2023 24 | CQRS
The Ardens CQRS reports are not designed to act as payment reports and for many reasons will often not match the numbers reported by CQRS for payment. These reports have been put in place to help practices with possible data quality issues with the aim of increasing monthly claims through missed activity not identified by the CQRS data extraction reports. As these have far fewer business rules and requirements applied they will include more activities that, after further investigation, potentially could be claimed for.
We have monthly reports to show activity for each of the indicators in the national CQRS payment portal. These can be found in 'Reporting > Clinical Reporting > Contracts I 2023 24 I CQRS'.
1. CQRS payment consolidation
The first folder contains links to the TPP data extraction reports so that you can easily run these each month to see the data that has been extracted to CQRS for each indicator.
These extraction numbers can then be compared to our monthly activity reports and where there are differences you may wish to investigate further into those patient records to find out why they haven't achieved payment. There are many reasons and very often isn't a straightforward task;
- Patient age
- Patient registration status and dates
- Patient age when administered previous doses
- The type and part of vaccine recorded
- Other eligibility requirements such as;
- currently pregnant
- immunocompromised
Worth taking into consideration is the fact that TPP uses the same extraction reports month on month and simply rolls on the event dates. This means that there is never any historical CQRS extraction data older than the current extraction month. Each month as we approach the next extraction date the TPP reports will be updated to reflect the new month. This means that practices have a very small window of time to compare numbers and take action where necessary.
As an example
- Data for 1st to 31st of x month will be extracted the following month around the 10th of the month
- Data available to view in CQRS around 15th of x month
- 15th of x month onwards, Practices can start comparing data and carrying out data quality work potentially increasing on payments claimed by a manual submission process
- At some point in the first week to 10 days of the month, TPP will start rolling on the dates in the extraction reports
This demonstrates that practices have little more than the last two weeks of every month to carry out CQRS payment consolidation work for the previous month. After that, the data will soon become unavailable. Please do refer to the GP Collections Schedule
Please see this spreadsheet as a comparison with the old versions of CQRS reports, compared to the new reports and which TPP data extraction report to refer to. Report comparison table
2. Done elsewhere
These reports were built to allow for reporting on activities carried out at shared locations such as PCN hubs, vaccination centres etc.
Any activities recorded outside the practice will not appear in CQRS automated extraction. If you run these reports and find patients appearing you can right-click on the report name and select 'Breakdown results' and select 'Event Details > Event down at' to find out where the event took place. When you click 'Refresh' you should see a list of organisations and will be able to identify events completed at your local shared hubs. Depending on local agreements, you may be able to claim for these as practice activity but would need to be confirmed with your local commissioners.
3. Done here
These reports will show you activities recorded as done at your practice.
4. Why is this patient appearing in a report
This is a frequent question that is very often almost impossible for the Ardens Support team to answer without having access to the patient record which we clearly shouldn't have. This article about reporting Issues and frequently asked questions may help explain in greater detail how to investigate.

The reports have been built based on either the current month or the previous month. It is worth taking into consideration when using these reports that data is extracted by TPP to CQRS around the 10th of each month. You will notice that we have only built reports for the current month and the previous month and will no longer be creating separate reports for each month. This is due to the size of the reports and the load that they potentially add to the SystmOne Servers.

'Current month | Not predicted to be in Extract'
These reports are your work to-do list and will show patients who have been vaccinated in the current month but for whatever reason are not predicted to be identified by CQRS for payment. The work identified in this set of reports will not have been extracted to CQRS yet so there is time to review records and take action to correct any data quality issues.
Please note: These reports are very complex and may take a while to run. Rather than trying to run them all at once, it might be advisable to run these in small batches
'Current month | Predicted to be in Extract'
These reports will show you what we believe will be included in the next scheduled CQRS extraction.
'Previous month | Not predicted to be in Extract'
These reports are your lists of patients who have been vaccinated in the previous month but for whatever reason were not identified by CQRS for payment. The work identified in this set of reports has already been extracted to CQRS. These records should be reviewed with a view to making a manual adjustment claim, if appropriate.
'Previous month | Predicted to be in Extract'
These reports will show you what has been included in the last CQRS extraction.
Possible reasons for non-inclusion in CQRS
There are many reasons why an activity is not identified for payment, these are the common reasons
- Vaccination given outside of the schedule requirements
- Wrong vaccine/dose recorded
- Recorded with incorrect event details (elsewhere, PCN administration)
- Wrong age
- Entered too late for extraction but backdated
- Registration status
Please Note: There are no reports for SFLU016, 017 or 018 as these are based on an immediately necessary registration type that we are unable to report on
