Introduction

Very often, report results need to be broken down to show a different break down of data, such as ages, what codes were used, medications, etc. A good example is that some local contract claims are quarterly. However, the practice may wish to review monthly data as well. Where we have a quarterly report, this can be broken down by month as well.

NOTE: For some local contract claims, the ICB will only pay for the earliest single event in that quarter. By breaking the data down to monthly, it is possible that an event/procedure may have been recorded in multiple months of that quarter.

Step 1

Run the report.

Step 2

Right-click on the report name and select 'Breakdown Results'.

Step 3

Depending on what data you need, look at the left-hand side,  expand each area and tick the relevant options. In this example, under Event Details 'Event month' has been selected. At the top of the list, you will see 'Item Count', You can see from the example below the number by month, and in June, some patients had more than 1, which can be useful to see exactly what has been recorded.  If you click 'Refresh' at the top, you will see the data. You can see from the example below the number by month, and in June, some patients had more than 1.

Step 4

When you close this window and 'Show Patients' you will see additional columns where your breakdown is pulled through

Step 5

The breakdown options can be reset here if you wish.
